“These photographs show my interest in how light effects the surfaces of a body and how color will describe them in a photograph. There is an emphasis on the use of “Venetian Red” in many of the photographs. You can see this clearly demonstrated in the paintings of Titian, Giovanni Bellini, and Tintoretto. This strong accent of red helps to give primacy of color over form. It is employed in a dominant manner, for sensual expressive purposes and as an important compositional element.”
